M-Green: Midtown Xpress Sampit Plants 600 Tree Seedlings

Sampit, 29 November 2025 – Midtown

This activity is the result of collaboration between Midtown Xpress Sampit and the East Kotawaringin Regency Environmental Service. This collaboration not only presents greening initiatives, but also invites various stakeholders to play an active role in preserving the environment. The event was officially opened by the Head of Mentawa Baru Ketapang Subdistrict, Irpansyah at Midtownhall Midtown Xpress Sampit.

Attended by the government, academics, community and media including the Commander of Kodim 1015/Sampit; Mentawa Baru Ketapang Subdistrict Head; Head of Baamang District; University Chancellor Darwan Ali; ranks of field leaders at the East Kotawaringin Regency Environmental Service; Mentawa Baru Hulu Village Head; Darwan Ali University Nature Lover Student; East Kotawaringin Green Generation Community; representatives of the Department of Water Resources, Highways, Construction Development, Public Housing and Settlement Areas; as well as the Central Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Service through the Head of UPT KPHP Mentaya Tengah Seruyan Hilir. Media colleagues from the Kotim Indonesian Journalists Association were also present to directly cover this activity.

A total of 600 Trembesi and Mahogany seedlings were planted at four different points, namely Jalan Kunci, Jalan Ringkar Utara, Jalan Sawit Raya, and Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. This distributed planting is carried out to provide a more even impact on increasing vegetation cover in urban areas, while strengthening air quality and the health of ecosystems which are threatened by global warming.

Hotel Manager of Midtown Xpress Sampit, Herly Subiyanto, emphasized that this activity is the hotel's real commitment to sustainability.

The Central Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Service, represented by Abdurahman Hakim as Head of UPT KPHP Mentaya Tengah Seruyan Hilir, considers this activity to be very important for the future of the environment.

"Indonesia has extraordinary natural wealth, but the challenges are not simple. Today's planting is a meaningful step to create a healthier, cleaner and pollution-free environment. Activities like this must continue to be carried out so that we not only pass on land, but also sustainability to the next generation," he said.

Midtown Xpress Sampit also emphasized that social contribution through the Midtown Connect program is a commitment that is carried out throughout the year.
